Anal skin tags are excess folds of skin around the anus. 

They are common.

Are anal skin tags harmful?

No, anal skin tags are not harmful. 

However, they may cause itch, irritation or difficulties with perianal hygiene. 

Additionally, some may dislike the appearance of them.

How are anal skin tags treated?

Anal skin tags can be removed with electrocautery, without the need for a surgical scalpel. 

It can be performed as a day procedure.
